92 Points - James Halliday Wine Companion
The Shiraz Viognier is a blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier. Viognier is a white grape variety with characteristics that uplift the wine to display more perfume characters.
The two wines were fermented separately before being blended. The wines were left to mature in oak for 14 months and the result is a wine with more mid-palate sweetness and that ‘something’ from the Viognier that seems to lubricate the palate.
On the nose are aromas of lavender and cherries with blueberries and savoury tannins coming through on the fresh bright palate. Matured in a combination of French and American Oak, this is one wine you will want to come back to.
