The Johannes family have recently purchased the Onikul Vineyard and renamed it the JohannesBurg Vineyard. This is a sentimental name as the family is of German heritage who were living in South Africa and have moved to Australia.
 
Johannes              - Family name;
Burg                    - German for fortress/castle
Johannesburg       - City in South Africa
JohannesBurg       - Family fortress to keep the family safe in Australia.
 
This Semillon is displaying grassy herbaceous aromas along with juicy sweet limes and crunchy green apples on the nose and palate which are indicative of this vineyard. Enjoyable now but those that can keep it for 5-7 years are in for a real treat!
